One Name, Globally: PhotoSentinel.
After years operating under two names, we are consolidating as one global brand. Here is what is changing, what stays, and the thinking behind it.

For more than 20 years, PhotoSentinel has kept watch over the world's most demanding construction sites. From desert landscapes where whole cities rise out of the sand, to government projects where every detail is a matter of record. Through driving snow and 50-degree heat, across 55 countries and counting.
For most of that time, we have done it under two names. Today, we are bringing them together as one.
Two names, one company
If you have worked with us in the United States, Canada and South America, you know us as Buildcam. Almost everywhere else, you know us as PhotoSentinel. Same company, same team, same hardware in the field. Two names, for reasons that made sense at the time, but gradually stopped making sense as the business grew into a global operation.
Two names means two stories to tell, two identities to maintain, and a quiet friction every time a customer in one market meets a reference from the other. For a company that has spent two decades building a single reputation for reliability, carrying two names had become the one thing working against that reputation.
So we are resolving it in the most direct way available. We are uniting everything under the name this company has carried from the very beginning. PhotoSentinel.
What happens to Buildcam?
The Buildcam name continues as the name of our hardware product range: the rugged, reliable cameras built to outlast the conditions they work in, trusted by thousands of customers across the USA, Canada, and throughout the world. Buildcam continues as the product name carrying that hard-won trust into every market we serve.
You will see it written as Buildcam, by PhotoSentinel.
Our new brand structure
The simplest way to understand the change is to see how the pieces now fit together.
One company, one range of cameras, one platform to manage them. Where there used to be a tangle of names, there is now a clear line from the company to the hardware to the software.
New names across the range
With one brand comes one, consistent way of naming the cameras. Our hardware keeps everything that made it dependable and takes on names that say plainly what each model does.
Nothing about the hardware changes - just the name on the box, which aims to be clearer about what the product is built to do.
Introducing Sentinel OS
Sentinel OS is our new intelligent software platform, the layer that turns years of captured frames into something you can actually use: evidence for a claim, insight for a decision, a visual story you can share with a client. It replaces Control Hub and is deployed across desktop and mobile as the central hub for every project you run.
Our first official release is named Sentinel OS Vela, and it represents the most significant software upgrade in our company's history. We will be launching it alongside this brand transition, and in the coming weeks www.buildcam.io will find its new home at www.photosentinel.com. You can read more about Sentinel OS Vela here.
A fresh new look
A name is only part of an identity. Alongside the consolidation, a new visual identity is rolling out across every region.
The thinking behind it is captured in a single idea: a sentinel keeps watch, gathers intel, and reports back. That is what our cameras have always done, and it is what the new identity is built to express. Considered, grounded, and timeless.
The palette is deliberately restrained. A near-black we call Night, a warm stone we call Earth, and a soft off-white we call First Light. Three colors that let our work, the sites and the footage our customers capture, stay the hero. Tying it together is the line that sits under everything we do.
A story in every frame.
What this means for you
If you are an existing customer, the most important thing to know is what does not change.
Nothing about your hardware changes. Nothing about your footage changes. Nothing about your team, your contacts, or your projects changes. Your cameras keep running exactly as they always have - supported by next-generation software that draws the best out of every image.
What changes is a new visual identity across all regions, the most advanced software platform we have ever built, and clearer names across the entire product line.
Over the coming weeks, visitors to our Buildcam site will be redirected to photosentinel.com. Sentinel OS will be launching in concert with this transition. Our team are ready to guide you through each step and answer any questions that you may have.
Two decades of proof sit behind this change. We are not starting over. We are bringing everything we have built together under one name, so that the next twenty years are clearer, sharper, and unmistakably ours.
PhotoSentinel. A story in every frame.
